Sheri Phuong is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. Sheri has worked in residential programs, community-based settings, crisis stabilization and outpatient therapy facilities. In her approach to therapy, Sheri works with her clients and oftentimes their family to help them find solutions to a myriad of challenges they face in life.

 

Sheri uses her training as a clinical social worker to help children, adolescents, families, and individuals connect to community support systems and utilize strengths to become as self-reliant as possible in their journey towards overcoming challenges. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches based on her client’s needs, which includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, crisis intervention, solution-focused brief therapy, and family systems therapy.

Sheri also works with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, anger, and other challenges. Her mission is to help her clients improve their self-awareness, manage their emotions, overcome trauma, cope with life stressors, and create a healthier lifestyle. She works with children and families to help with defiance, anger, truancy, social skills, communication skills, cohesion, and reducing family conflict. She especially enjoys working with pre-teens, teens, young adults, and families.

Sheri feels it is essential to for her clients to have a comfortable, trusting relationship and work with a therapist who is the “right fit” for them.
