REGAN GIFFORD
Hi! I’m Regan Gifford (pronounced Ree-gan), a supervisee in social work working toward clinical licensure. I specialize in supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My practice is rooted in empathy, trust, and creativity. I believe therapy should be a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they grow.

Using a mix of evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and play-based techniques, I tailor each session to the individual, honoring their pace and unique strengths. Whether we’re building coping skills, exploring tough emotions, or simply making sense of life, I strive to create a down-to-earth, safe space where healing feels possible.
I commonly support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, mood disorders, trauma, autism, and ADHD, but I welcome anyone looking for a supportive space to better understand themselves and feel more in control of their life. Whether a client is overwhelmed, shut down, or just feeling stuck, my goal is to help them build confidence, coping tools, and a stronger sense of self.
Before transitioning to full-time therapy, I worked as a school social worker in Hanover County. That experience gave me firsthand insight into how emotional challenges show up in everyday life—at home, in the classroom, and with peers. It also gave me the opportunity to collaborate closely with families, educators, and other providers, something I now carry into my therapeutic work to ensure support feels both meaningful and practical.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting. If you have any questions or want to learn more about how we might work together, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you!
