Mary Beth Baker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of professional experience since earning her Master’s in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002. Throughout her career, she has worked both in public and private settings, and inpatient (both residential and acute care) as well as outpatient settings.

Mary Beth specializes in treating children and adolescents and providing trauma informed care to individuals and their families. Mary Beth provides a whole-person, strengths-based approach to treatment. Mary Beth draws from a myriad of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, techniques of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, both non-directive and directive Play Therapy, Sand Tray, and Social Skills Training.

Mary Beth is also a Certified Autism Specialist and uses sensory tools and techniques of play therapy to assist in meeting the unique needs of her clients.

She recognizes that the relationship and therapeutic rapport established between her clients and her is the best predictor of success in treatment.
