Bridget Bowie, Resident in Counseling, is eager to work with adults experiencing substance use/abuse concerns as well as adults experiencing life transitions, experiencing depression and or anxiety and those with disabilities. After earning her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling she worked with adults living with varied disabilities in securing and maintaining gainful employment throughout Central Virginia and also has extensive experience in substance abuse case management services and remains passionate about serving this population.
In addition, I have specific interests in treating mood disorders, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders. I enjoy working with individuals throughout all adult life stages. Bridget Bowie is a Resident in Counseling and is passionate about helping others.
Treatment Approach:
I believe that treatment should be highly individualized in order to most effectively address the specific needs/goals of each person I serve. I like to incorporate strategies and methods from multiple counseling concepts:
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
-
Mindfulness practices
I am so glad you’re here and look forward to helping you accomplish your goals!
