Breonna Hughes
Resident in Counseling
Who Am I?
Hello! I am Breonna Hughes. I am a resident in counseling who works with children, teens, and young adults. I love working with individuals with anxiety, life transitions, anger management, and adjustment disorders.
I also enjoy providing support to individuals with autism, and worked in an elementary school for 2 1/2 years before pursuing my LPC. Before working in a private practice setting, I worked in community mental health providing care to clients in group and individual settings.
I love working with:
-
Children and adolescents as they navigate their school, family, and social lives
-
Young adults as they explore who they are and who they are becoming
-
Individuals in a group setting
-
Individuals with anxiety, adjustment disorders, life transitions, stress management
Some of my favorite approaches include:
I enjoy being flexible in my approaches and meeting clients where they are at! I like to pull from a number of different approaches such as solution-focus, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and client-centered. When working with younger clients, I enjoy integrating fun elements that allow the client self-expression and creative freedom.
