
Tiffany Brown, Resident in Counseling
Who am I?
Tiffany Brown is a Resident in Counseling with over 15 years of
experience in the mental health field. Her career began in forensic psychology, where she worked extensively with individuals found not guilty by reason of insanity and those requiring restoration to competency to stand trial. This work took place at 2 of Virginia's State Hospitals and Virginia's largest correctional facility has given me insight into the complexities of mental health within the criminal justice system.
Beyond her forensic work, she has also served as a clinician with a nonprofit community service
organization and a therapist for a private practice, providing compassionate, evidence-based
care for diverse populations. Tiffany holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling, specializing in Mental Health.
Tiffany’s therapeutic approach integrates several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, while practicing from a trauma informed lens and person-centered foundation. She ensures safety, empowerment and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process.
Tiffany’s clinical experience allows her to support individuals facing a wide range of challenges;
including anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, grief and loss, and relational or couples issues. Her goal is to help clients develop insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
